What is your greatest sporting success?
X-Athlon 2018, a multi-sport adventure race in Japan - I entered as a wild card, keen on the paragliding event with limited kayaking, running and mountain biking experience but surprised myself placing third overall and first in the paragliding.

When and why did you start paragliding?
I wanted to start paramotoring so took up paragliding to gain the PPG licence in 2009 and instantly became hooked with freeflying.

What is your mountaineering experience?
Dominantly flying over them.

What does your typical training week consist of?
If the weather is good, I'm flying. If it's bad, I'm probably hiking up from bomb out.

What are your best and worst sporting memories?
Best: Watching sunset at 5700m in northern Pakistan after an incredible flight. Worst: Hitting the ground unexpectedly.

Why did you choose X-Pyr?
Some of my most rewarding flying has been in the Pyrenees. I wanted to challenge myself and see more of the stunning scenery.

Have you participated on X-Pyr before?
Not yet.

Have you flown in the Pyrenees before?
In 2017, my brother and I vol bivved across the Pyrenees and I've spend many seasons training acro in Organya.

What will your strategy be during the race?
Have fun.

What excites you most about X-Pyr?
Flying in awesome mountains.

What scares you the most about the event?
Unflyable weather.

Why will he/she make a good assistant?
She knows me well and will keep team spirits high.
