What is your greatest sporting success?
2nd place overall in NOVA BordAirrace Aschau im Chiemgau 1-2.06.2019,
Participation in Red Bull X-Alps 2019, although the result was far from dreams.

When and why did you start paragliding?
In 2007 thanks to my father who, for some reasons, wanted me to try paragliding. In 2012 I started flying competitively, then hike&fly.

What is your mountaineering experience?
Born in mountains, ski mountaineering former athlete, hiking and speed hiking enthusiast.

What does your typical training week consist of?
Well, the preparation routine is 2-3 x gym/week, 3 x long training/week (running or skimo or bike), 1x tabata/intervals/week, and flying of course! Depends a bit of the work and guiding schedule, I have to work in the meantime.

What are your best and worst sporting memories?
Best sporting memory was Bordairrace Aschau im Chiemgau. The flow I experienced during this event was so intense. I've never had so clear mind and I never knew better what to do. But this knowing came from intuition, so I was not sure, I just felt that I got access to some super power..
The worst, but still beautifull, was hike from Speikboden to Kronplatz during RBXA. Knowing that we're going to be eliminated at 6.00 the next morning I realised that I can make it to the Kronplatz and finish the race with some honour. I was crushed, I've been crying while marching, then Christoph Weber called me and asked if I can make it to the signboard before 6.00 AM. The time was short. After that I was hiking like crazy to make it. And to forget. Effort, pain, storm and rain, darkness, loneliness and awareness, that everybody is watching. I was at the turnpoint before 6.00. The elimination was a hard experience. But Pawel made so beautifull movie from there..

Why did you choose X-Pyr?
Probably I got addicted to hike&fly comps, and X-Pyr is one of the greatest races. It gives me motivation to train, to develop, to be better and more complete pilot, to get to know new areas.. and people. I like to exdeeds my limits because it's the only way to develop..

Have you participated on X-Pyr before?
No, never.

Have you flown in the Pyrenees before?
Just only in the foothills of Pyrenees, when I was a novice.

What will your strategy be during the race?
To make fewer mistakes.. To hike less, fly more. To use every opportunity to fly. I am planning to stress less, than during X-Alps.

What excites you most about X-Pyr?
An adventure, new mountains, new challange. I am courious, what is to be learned and experienced through this.

What scares you the most about the event?
The fact that I quite don't know the area. Yet. The Pyrenees' aerology and topography is completely different than aerology of The Alps. And high temperatures.

Why will he/she make a good assistant?
First of all, Pawel prooved to be good assistant during X-Alps 2019 and especially Bordairrace Aschau 2019, when we were ranked 2nd overall. He's always 100% involved and honest, there is no place for quarrels, emotions, when the race is on. Pawel is always very positive, supportive. Sometimes makes fun of everything, but I am too serious then, together it makes balance. Pawel somehow finds own goals in being an assistant, which is crucial for a long lasting co-working and team building.

Anything else you like to comment?
I will be one of Parashop RaceTeam athletes present in this race and I would like to kindly post a word. Stefan Berger, thank you for the invitation to the Parashop Race Team, it is a great honour and opportunity to learn, I appreciate that very much!!
