What is your greatest sporting success?
When I won the german championships three times in a row.

When and why did you start paragliding?
I started paragliding in 1994. I didn´t want to go down from the mountains. Paraglidings seemed to be an easier way to come down from the hills.

What is your mountaineering experience?
I live at the Alps, therefore I have a lot of mountaineering experience. As a child I was often in the mountains with my parents. Later I crossed the Alps by foot and made a lot of mountain tours by foot, on a bike or paragliding, of course!

What does your typical training week consist of?
My typical training week consist of 2 – 3 times walking up the hill, 1 time jogging and flying as often as possible.

What are your best and worst sporting memories?
I had a lot of good sporting memories. It is difficult to say which one was the best. To enjoy the nature, the air and the different flavours are great.
My worst sporting memory was a mid air collision with an other pilot. We both landed in the trees. Nobody was injured, but the shock followed me a long time.

Why does the X-Pyr interest you?
Last year I could fly in the french Pyrenees and was inspired by the mountains. When I heard about the X-Pyr I wanted to be a part of it, to see more of the Pyrenees.

Have you flown in the Pyrenees before?
Yes, last year I was at the PWC in Loudenvielle (France). It was a really nice experience.

What will your strategy be during the race?
To fly as much as possible.

What excites you most about X-Pyr?
The adventure, the challenge, the new experiences and the impressive landscape.

What scares you the most about the event?
Persistent bad weather with a lot of rain and a lot of walking

Why will he make a good assistant?
Thomas has been flying since 1989. He has a lot of cross country experience. Nobody knows me better.

Anything else you like to comment?
I´m looking forward to flying in the Pyrenees and I hope we will have a nice competition with a lot of great impressions!

I´m looking forward to seeing you soon!
