What is your greatest sporting success?
First place in Andalucia Championships 2014 Club and Sport class. Second place overall.

When and why did you start paragliding?
In 1998 or 1999, I started flying because of the stress at work, and it turned out to be the best way to escape.

What is your mountaineering experience?
The X-Pyr training makes me spend 3-4 hours or more in the mountains , in altitudes between 1200 and 1800m , mainly in the natural park of Sierras Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama. Mountain races, half marathons and full marathons, the 101km Ronda Popular. Nothing in high mountains, I try to fly over them.

What does your typical training week consist of?
Trips to the mountains 3 days a week,  with altitude gains between 1000 and 1500m, 2 days of running on tracks and tarmac, mínimum 1:30, I walk a lot to get  my feet used to it. Gym one hour every day to work the stamina and running technique, and 4 days flying hike and fly, I live in Andalucia.

What are your best and worst sporting memories?
The best are several: after a good XC flight, not necessarily a long one, I prefer technical ones, a task in the Andalucia league, or when my name is called to go up the podium. -and the worst, losing someone from the sport.

Why did you choose X-Pyr?
For me it is the essence of free flying, climbing up a mountain and flying down with the latest gliders, we enjoy flying down but landing far and late . And the sporting challenge is huge, and I like that.

Have you participated on X-Pyr before?
No, I have been trying to enter since 2014 and I finally made it.

Have you flown in the Pyrenees before?
Yes, mainly in Castejón de Sos and the pre-Pyrenees. In 2016 we did the 2014 X-Pyr route and this year we will also do the route a month before the event.

What will your strategy be during the race?
Flying as much as possible, as fast as posible and with a cool head so we don't fail at making the important decissions, both flying and walking.

What excites you most about X-Pyr?
The challenge in itself

What scares you the most about the event?
The meteo and the injuries.

Why will he/she make a good assistant?
Because of his qualities. He is a paraglider pilot, a vet (understands animals), knows the Pyrenees both on the ground and from the air , and is a fantastic person... he needs to learn how to make massages.

Anything else you like to comment?
I would like to wish best of luck to all participants, and I hope we all have the time to finish the race. We meet in the air...
