What is your greatest sporting success?
Success? I made it to Triathlon World Champs in Germany in 2009.

When and why did you start paragliding?
I was fascinated. Often I was riding up mountain roads and would get off and lie on the ground watching to the paragliders floating in the sky.

What is your mountaineering experience?
I got a taste of climbing in Australia in my twenties but when I came to Interlaken I really got fascinated by mountaineering. I've climbed a lot of the local peaks and also Mont Blanc in France.

What does your typical training week consist of?
Its sporadic. Hike and fly in mornings or evenings, cycling and running. Normally I would be doing a lot of swimming because I love it for cardio and find it quite relaxing.

What are your best and worst sporting memories?
Just recently some of my worst actually...doing XC comps for the first time and realising I have a lot to learn...

Why did you choose X-Pyr?
It was the next step to take in terms of hike and fly. I really love to use the paraglider as a tool to cross mountains and see places otherwise not possible.

Have you participated on X-Pyr before?

Have you flown in the Pyrenees before?
No. But I will be there in April to check it out. Chriegel's strategy for XALPS was not to fly the route before hand... maybe I will try that...

What will your strategy be during the race?
To smile. I'm competitive but the pilot level is very high. I need to make sure I race my own race and not someone else's. And most importantly for me and my supporter to have a rad adventure!

What excites you most about X-Pyr?
Actually the end of each day. Camping, relaxing, eating after a full day of adventure!

What scares you the most about the event?
Getting too tired physically and mentally to enjoy the adventure.

Why will he/she make a good assistant?
Florian smiles a lot. He's very calm and organised.
