What is your greatest sporting success?
I haven't got any sporting success worth mentioning, probably my best achievement is to be able to take part in this race.

When and why did you start paragliding?
I started flying in 2007, I have always liked mountains and bird watching; simply to accomplish the dream of flying, and once you try it you can't stop.

What is your mountaineering experience?
I have been into mountaineering since I was 20, in all its aspects: rock climbing, ice climbing, cross country skiing, alpine climbing, etc. I have climbed in many places , both in and out of the country.

What does your typical training week consist of?
Any time I can I do long walks with height difference in the mountains. In the winter I mix it with cross country skiing and with cycling in the summer. I alternate weeks with power and weeks with volumen, and flying any time I can!

What are your best and worst sporting memories?
Good moments are almost all of them, every day I take off, when I reach a summit or finish a trek....all of them are good memories. The worst without a doubt are the injuries, I have had some fractures from climbing accidents.

Why did you choose X-Pyr?
Because it surely is one of the best hike&fly races. It brings together my passion for flying, for the Pyrenees and for the competition. Without a doubt it is a great adventure and it passes by valleys where I have lived.

Have you participated on X-Pyr before?
No, I hadn't taken part before.

Have you flown in the Pyrenees before?
I live in the Aragon side of the Pyrenees , so it is my local flying site, I wouldn't change it for anything!!

What will your strategy be during the race?
I don't think a fixed strategy for the race could be stablished, but you need a lot of flexibility to be able to change and take decisions along the route. The only strategy that is not going to change is the enjoyment of the race.

What excites you most about X-Pyr?
Absolutely everything: flying in the Pyrenees, to travel the whole lenght of the GR, crossing Aragon on foot or flying, and to be able to participate with the best pilots in this flying discipline.

What scares you the most about the event?
What worries me most is having to fly with conditions well over my level of piloting , accumulated fatigue can lead to serious mistakes.

Why will he/she make a good assistant?
There are not enough words, but mainly because he is a very good friend, great pilot and very knowledgeable about the Pyrenees, he is able to motivate anyone in any situation. can't ask for more, he´s got everything, ha,ha.
