TEAM CHRIGEL MAURER: A TRIP TO CHASE RECORDS

On Thursday the 12th of October, one day before the first birthday of the Paragliding Open Distance record, Maurer flew 482 km; and on Saturday even further, 506 km. "The day really didn't give any more posibilities in its eleven hours. However, a little extra tail wind and it would have been a world record" said the multi-winner of the X-Pyr and X-Alps.

The world record stands at 572 km and it is still in the hands of three brazilian pilots: Donizete Baldessar Lemos, Rafael Saladini and Samuel Nascimento. On the other hand, Chrigel significantly improved the 420km Swiss record. The third member of the Berna team, Patrick von Känel, made a 406km flight,  close to the previous Swiss record.
