What is your greatest sporting success?
My first Victory in Biotech Bordairline (33 hours race walk & fly) Alt Aussee 2014; Third place in the overall standings in the 2014 and 2015 Bordairline series.

When and why did you start paragliding?
I started paragliding in 2007 after witnessing the start of the Red Bull X-Alps on the Dachstein. Paragliding for me was a logical addition to my strong interest in mountain trekking.

What is your mountaineering experience?
Trekking and climbing tours (some over several days), mostly in the Alps (Großglockner, Dachstein, Wildspitze, Hochkönig, Zugspitze, ...).

What does your typical training week consist of?
Summer: 40-55 km running, partly in the mountains. Mountain biking 1-2 times. Flying as often as possible. Winter: Skitours, running, weight training. Flying as often as possible. Exercises for improving balance and coordination.

What are your best and worst sporting memories?
Best: My first solo flight at altitude and my first long distance flight. Crossing the Alps south to north at an altitude of up to 4135 m. Worst: Landing after 30 min flying in spite of perfect weather conditions.

Why did you choose X-Pyr?
I like the race is a big adventure in unknown mountains for me.

Have you participated on X-Pyr before?

Have you flown in the Pyrenees before?

What will your strategy be during the race?
Best possible preparation; flying as much as possible; safety first; making the right decisions; concentrating on my own race and not comparing with the other athletes; best possible performance in every situation.

What excites you most about X-Pyr?
The adventure generally. The possibility to stand on the start line with the best pilots in the world.

What scares you the most about the event?
Unpredictable weather conditions and missing the X-Pyr landing pontoon .....

Why will he make a good assistant?
He studied sports, is himself a successful sportsman and coach and has been my assistant at all my competitions.

Anything else you like to comment?
I´m looking forward to seeing you soon!
