INTERVIEW

What is your greatest sporting success?
My greatest sporting success was a xc-flight, started in Slovenia flew over Italy and end in Germany, not so many km but really nice views and mountains.

When and why did you start paragliding?
I start paragliding in 1995, because of my model-plane carreer flying with my-self builted sail-plane motivated me to fly by myself in the easy way of paragliding.

What is your mountaineering experience?
My mountaineering experience is quite different, mainly hike and fly but also a lot skitouring and skitouring-competitions in the winter time.
I also do freeclimbing and via-ferratta. It's really good feeling for body and mind.
Last years I also started with trail-ultra-running and I really like it, to run or climb 2, 3 or more mountains a day

What does your typical training week consist of?
For me it's not really training, it's more my lifestyle. I mix everything: trailrunning, paragliding, hiking, climbing, mountainbike, archery and much more.
I love to do a lot different things so I never get boring.

What are your best and worst sporting memories?
My best moments are when I take off from small hills, like 50 meters, and managed thermalling up there. I feels like being a bird.
My worst momment was about 8 years ago, when I broke my back during an acro training session. It was stupid and really unnecessary

Why did you choose X-Pyr?
I choose X-Pyr because I really enjoy to fly in Spain. During my acro-flying-carreer I trained a lot in Organyà/Spain. I like the people and the country.

Have you participated on X-Pyr before?
It's my first time I compete in X-Pyr.

Have you flown in the Pyrenees before?
Yes, I flew a little before in the Pyrenees.

What will your strategy be during the race?
Our strategy is to enjoy the race, the landscape and hopefully strong thermals 😉

What excites you most about X-Pyr?
I think the most exciting thing is to be out in the nature of the Pyrenees, and be able to feel really free.

What scares you the most about the event?
I am not really scared about anything, except really bad weather.

Why will he make a good assistant?
My supporter is also my brother, so we know each other since long time.
He already supported me in a lot of walking & fly comps. like Biotech Boardairline and Crossalps.
Sometimes he pushes me really hard to hard hahahahaha
Since a few years ago, he also paraglide and already have really good knowledge about the sport.
Last year we did one hike and fly comp. Together in tandem paraglider and had big fun and were succesful.

Anything else you like to comment?
We both cant wait for the x-pyr 😉
